Week 11

We have our first appointment today with the doctor (we just saw the nurse last time) and we are supposed to be able to hear the heartbeat today (very excited) we tried to get the nurse to try a couple of weeks ago, but she was way sassy and wouldn't... I liked her ;-)

We also just got back from Mexico where the little bitty graduated from an embryo to a fetus.. it was a proud day... I will post pictures later (Just of our trip.. there isn't much to see of the baby yet) and along with those pictures I'll let you know how the doctors visit went.

Countdown ticker is getting better

I just noticed that the picture on the countdown ticker is getting significantly less gross (still a little scary, but LESS scary)

Also, I think the picture below that I posted is incorrect. I have a feeling the internet may have lied to me (curse you google image search) I think that baby is much farther along than ours is.. but I still think it's cuter than the current version of ours.. so I'm going to keep it up there.

that countdown ticker is totally grossing me out

I'm not quite sure why the little picture over there on the countdown is so alien-ish - I've done some research, and I've seen photos on the internet of a 5 week old embryo (we're actually 6 weeks now) and they don't look NEARLY that scary.

So I decided to post a better/less scary picture.. just to make myself feel better.

In about 8 months...

We were originally going to wait until after the first trimester to announce the news, but we quickly found out that it's really hard to keep it a secret.
We are a little over 5 weeks pregnant (ok, that's a lie.. only one of us is pregnant.. if WE were pregnant then Bend would make the news again) but we're both excited, ecstatic actually.
I'm due August 19th.. yes, I'll be pregnant in the heat of summer, thank Jesus for air conditioning! (and my mom and dad - what a good wedding present)
So far, I feel great, no morning sickness, not too tired (well, not any more tired than usual, I still go to bed early)
Having a hard time drinking 100 ounces of water a day (that is a LOT of water to drink).

So, that's the scoop, we will keep you updated.

oh -and I know the countdown is a little scary at this point - but someday (hopefully soon) it will stop looking like an alien and more like a baby... at least that's what we're hoping.
